Walsall 4-0 Coventry City Walsall 4-0 Coventry City

Well that was absolutely diabolical, worst performance of the season. Just nothing was going for us, such a drab match and effort by the players. Just very confused how we can play with the same team from Friday who played well to being battered today, very puzzled. Steven Pre sley kept Ian Book Jersey the same side that grafted out that 1-0 win over league leaders Doncaster Rovers.TeamsCoventry City: Joe Murphy (GK), Cyrus Christie, William Edjenguele, Aaron Martin, Jordan Stewart, James Bailey, Adam Barton (Steven Jennings 65), John Fleck, Carl Baker (c), Franck Mou sa (Jordan Clarke 65), Callum Ball (Callum Wilson 62)Subs: Chris Dunn (GK), David Bell, Gary McSheffrey, Cody McDonaldWalsall: Sam Johnstone, Andy Butler (c), James Chambers, Jamie Paterson, Febian Brandy (Ashley Hemmings 87), Paul Downing, James Baxendale (Romaine Sawyers 87), Adam Chambers, Connor Taylor, Sam Mantom, Craig WestcarrSubs: Liam Roberts (GK), Dean Holden, Nicky Featherstone, Ben Purki s, Malvind BenningAttendance: 7,504 (2,459 away fans, great effort considering the awful football!)GOALS: Paterson 33, 87Westcarr 54(pen), 74Booked- Stewart X2, Christie, Ball, Clarke, WestcarrSent off-Stewart-second bookable offenceOpening chance of the game fell to the home side, with Adam Chambers shooting straight at Murphy, Archie Manning Jersey whilst at the other end Ball had a header saved well by on loan Manchester United keeper Johnstone. Walsall brought out the first real save of the half, Paterson firing towards goal causing Murphy to flap at the shot, but he managed to stop any real danger. Edjenguele also had a chance for the away side, heading just over the bar from a Cyrus Christie cro s. Coventry born Paterson broke the deadlock for the home side, going through 2 Kwon Alexander Jersey defenders before firing acro s Murphy into the bottom far corner, great effort! That goal woke the away side up as Mou sa fired in a low shot which was pushed around for a corner; Captain Baker also had a chance, his shot being parried by keeper Johnstone and on loan striker Callum Ball failing to get a good touch to tap home. The home side had the last effort of the half with Andy Taylor long range effort from a free kick bringing out a great save from Joe Murphy.I was hoping that we would come out with more desire to win the game and we shown that with controlling the early stages of the second half, also Baker heard towards goal was tipped over by the giant Johnstone once again, great dead ball specialist cro s by Cyrus Christie, I can see him playing in the Premier League I think he is Jalen Dalton Jersey that good. That good early pre sure for the skyblues was left in tatters by some stupid defending and decision making. Stewart for some reason through the throwing into the box and not down the line, causing Martin to panic and lose the ball which led for him to stick a leg out on the oncoming attacker, blatant penalty. Craig Westcarr stepped up and sent Murphy the wrong way. We let our anger out after that which led to Stewart being sent off for a second bookable defence, so whatever would happen City will probably be hit on the counter which they were throughout. The game was wrapped up with 15 minutes to go as a Paterson free kick was parried by Murphy but Westcarr was there to head home the follow up. Coventry kid Paterson was having an excellent game, having Malcolm Roach Jersey another two strikes at Murphys goal before beating him again as he was played through with only Murphy to beat, showing his composure poking it past him.Thank goodne s the game was over. Absolute write off that was, hope we can just get results from the last 4 games. Roll on Brentford Saturday PUSBWalsall away! As you can see the pillar had me moving around all game.
